Non-US Citizen Renewing a Driver License or Non-Driver Identification
Required documentation for Non-US citizens renewing a driver license or non-driver identification card.
If you are a Permanent Resident, Asylee, or a Refugee and have previously submitted your green card or I-94 to the Concord office you may apply for your renewal at any local DMV office by bringing the following:
- Your current New Hampshire Driver License.
- Your valid Permanent Resident Card or your valid I-94 card.
- The correct completed application for your license type:
If you have become a Naturalized U.S. Citizen, please bring the following to any DMV office:
- Valid U.S. Passport or Naturalization Certificate.
- Name change document, if applicable.
If you are here on a Visa or Work Employment Card you must apply for all renewals or extensions at the Concord DMV office by bringing the following:
- Your current New Hampshire Driver License.
- Your current Visa or Work Employment Card paperwork including:
- If you are a Visa holder please bring any paperwork stating that your Visa has been approved (official approval notice). If your license is valid and you have recieved an I-797 Notice of Receipt from USCIS, you may be eligible for 120 day exentions of your driving license. Please review Saf-C 1002.06(d) for more information on this extension.
- If you are here on a Work Employment Card (EAD) you must bring your valid card.
- If you have changed employers, please bring a new employment verification letter.
- If your status is pending, your license will not be renewed or extended until you can provide an approval notice. A notice of action will not be accepted for any license extension or renewal.
